In this new era, the Chinese nation will continue to progress through reform. We will stay committed to advancing reform in all respects, and prevail over whatever challenges may lie ahead. We will tackle longstanding problems with courage and resolve, and break the impediments of vested interests to carry reform through.

China is a vast country with over 5,000 years of history and a huge population. There is no manual to which we can refer in promoting reform and development, neither do we have any need for condescending instructors to lecture our people.

中國經(jīng)濟是一片大海，而不是一個(gè)小池塘。大海有風(fēng)平浪靜之時(shí)，也有風(fēng)狂雨驟之時(shí)?？耧L(fēng)驟雨可以掀翻小池塘，但不能掀翻大海。經(jīng)歷了無(wú)數次狂風(fēng)驟雨，大海依舊在那兒！經(jīng)歷了5000多年的艱難困苦，中國依舊在這兒！面向未來(lái)，中國將永遠在這兒！
To use a metaphor, China’s economy is not a pond, but an ocean. The ocean certainly has its calm days, but also times of gales and storms. Gales and storms may ravage a pond, but never an ocean. Whatever the gales and storms, the ocean is still there. It is the same for China. After 5,000 years of trials and tribulations, China is still here. Looking ahead, China will always be here.

我們應該堅持以開(kāi)放求發(fā)展，深化交流合作，堅持“拉手”而不是“松手”，堅持“拆墻”而不是“筑墻”，堅決反對保護主義、單邊主義，不斷削減貿易壁壘，推動(dòng)全球價(jià)值鏈、供應鏈更加完善，共同培育市場(chǎng)需求。
We need to promote development through opening up, and enhance exchanges and cooperation. We need to stick together rather than drifting apart. We need to tear down walls rather than erecting them. We need to stand firm against protectionism and unilateralism. We need to continually bring down trade barriers, upgrade global value and supply chains, and jointly create market demand.
